Objective 2: Treatment

The program "Support for HIV/AIDS Prevention, Treatment and Care for Most Vulnerable Populations in Ukraine" provides access to treatment services for vulnerable groups, especially for injecting drug users and prisoners through the supply of ARV drugs and test systems (to determine VL and SD4) to AIDS centers and prisons. HIV-positive citizens are provided with the access to services of TB diagnosis and directly observed TB treatment as well as with the access to rehabilitation programs for HIV-positive IDUs. The program supports training of medical personnel and social workers from different regions of Ukraine at the National Training Center, and during the specialists' mentoring visits to the regions. TB DOT sites and cabinets where antiretroviral therapy is instituted are provided with technical equipment in small towns.

Support of rehabilitation programs for IDUs targeted at absolute drop out.
Decentralization of ART - technical support for medical institutions, which provide or plan to provide ART apart the regional AIDS centers.
The establishment and further development of National training center for professionals working in the field of health, social, educational or informational services for patients with HIV / TB / IDU, coordination and management of training activities at national level in the area of HIV / AIDS.
Providing access to TB diagnosis and treatment for HIV-infected patients.
Construction of the regions of Ukraine in mentoring programs for professionals working in health services with HIV / TB / IDUs.
Organizing and conducted mentoring programs in Ukrainian regions for professionals working with HIV / TB / IDUs patients.
Capacity building of the State Department of Execution of Punishment in Ukraine to implement the treatment component in the penitentiary system.
