Monitoring UNGASS Goals on Sexual and Reproductive Health (2009 - 2010)
The project is implemented in Ukraine by All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH supported by Gestos -Soropositivity with the financial support of the Ford Foundation.
Project aims:
• To strengthen the national actions on monitoring of the state policies on HIV / AIDS, sexual and reproductive rights.
• To draw attention to the subject of sexual and reproductive rights in the context of HIV / AIDS.
• To broaden the participation of civil society in monitoring the implementation of country commitments to implement the Declaration of Commitment on HIV / AIDS.
• The research "Monitoring the implementation of UNGASS Goals on Sexual and Reproductive Health" was conducted.
The main project achievements:
1. A working meeting on the project (IІІ UNGASS Forum, Kyiv, July 17, 2009) was held.
Results III UNGASS Forum:
• The project "Monitoring UNGASS Goals on Sexual and Reproductive Health" was presented;
• Goals of the research "Monitoring the UNGASS Goals on Sexual and Reproductive Health" in 2009 - 2010 were presented;
• The research group was formed.
2. The research "Monitoring the UNGASS Goals on Sexual and Reproductive Health" in 2009 - 2010 was conducted. Its aim was to monitor the implementation of activities identified by the special session of the UN General Assembly on HIV / AIDS on sexual and reproductive health in 2007-2008, and the research of effectiveness of introduction and implementation of legislative and program documents.
3. A working meeting on reporting the results of the research on sexual and reproductive health goals of the Special UN General Assembly Session on HIV and AIDS was held (IV UNGASS Forum) (Kyiv, February 12, 2010).
Results of IV UNGASS Forum:
• The results of project implementation were presented at international and local level;
• The results of the research "Ukraine: monitoring sexual and reproductive health goals of the Special Session of UN General Assembly on HIV / AIDS" were presented;
• The advocacy plan was developed to provide access to reproductive health services for families affected by HIV / AIDS epidemic.
