Golden Enema Award

The All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH initiated the Golden Enema Award in 2011 for the most ruining actions in health care and causing significant harm to health and lives of Ukrainian citizens.

Academician Andrey Serdiuk, President of the National Medical Science Academy, unanimously became a winner of the Golden Enema Award-2011. He received this award for the personal contribution to the destruction of a unique institution – AIDS department of the clinic belonging to the Gromashevsky Institute of Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases.

 

Mr. Serdiuk, having ignored all the moral principles, is ruining a unique infrastructure which was created due to multimillion Hrivna contribution made by international donors and Ukrainian sponsors. This is the place where science, health care and social support are united. 6212 patients received treatment in the in-patient ward for the last three years. 17470 medical consultations were provided only in 2010, the vast majority of the patients who received these consultations came from other regions of the country.
